After three years living abroad in a country with limited internet access, I moved back to my home country and set about launching my business’s social media presence. I had articles coming out in well-known art publications. I was building new relationships in the art jewelry and gem industries. I launched my website and this blog, and Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. My plans and goals were finally coming together. And then days later, my dad went into the hospital, and a few days after that, he passed away.

My path didn’t fork so much as take a sharp turn in an unexpected direction, and this blog went to sleep. Other responsibilities took precedence, and that was that.

But now, it’s been a year. It’s time to restart, and just in time for the annual Tucson gem shows, aka my Disneyland.
